It’s an all-purpose product with very good corrosion resistance and is suitable for a wide variety of applications that require good formability and weldability. Grade 316 can be delivered with a variety of surface finishes. 316 / 316L austenitic stainless steels have excellent weldability and are suitable for the full range of conventional welding methods except oxyacetylene.
